Margao: The Xth Installation Ceremony of the Board of Directors of the Lions and Leo Club of Salcete for the Lionistic Year 2025–2026 was held with great enthusiasm on July 18, 2025, at Hotel Laxmi Empire, Margao.
Lion Griffin Fernandes was installed as the President of the Lions Club of Salcete, while Leo Leansa Gonsalves took charge as President of the Leo Club of Salcete for the new Lionistic year. The installation and induction were conducted by 2nd Vice District Governor MJF Lion Sudesh Borkar of Lions District 317-B, who also administered the oath of secrecy to the newly appointed board members.
A total of 16 new Lions, each a distinguished professional in their field, and 18 dynamic new Leo members were inducted into the clubs, marking a strong start to the year’s activities.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Vijai Sardesai, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister and MLA of Fatorda, as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he commended the Lions and Leo Club of Salcete for their impactful community initiatives and assured his continued support in expanding their service activities across Salcete and Goa.
The event saw attendance from prominent Lions dignitaries, Past Multiple Council Chairpersons (PMCC), Past District Governors (PDGs), and members from various Lions Clubs within the district.
The evening concluded on a patriotic and convivial note with the National Anthem, followed by fellowship and dinner.
