PONDA: The Department of Finance (Revenue & Control) has notified that transport of liquor within the jurisdiction of the Ponda Assembly Constituency will be prohibited from 6:00 pm on April 7, 2026 till 6:00 pm on April 9, 2026, or till closure of poll, whichever is later.
The restriction will also apply on May 4, 2026, on account of counting of votes for the Ponda Assembly by-election.
Authorities have also fixed limits on possession of liquor within the constituency.
A person, including family, can possess a maximum of three quart bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor or foreign liquor (other than beer), six bottles of 650 ml beer, and three quart bottles of country liquor.
