Mollem: In a major seizure the Goa Excise seized illegally transported liquor worth ₹ 8.2 lakh from a Tamil Nadu registered container truck, at Mollem Check post.
As per Goa Excise officials, the container truck bearing registration No TN-57-AV-4104 and 685 cases of Liquor bottles of worth ₹ 8,29,680 was carrying illegal transportation of liquor at about 5:15 am on 26/02/2021 from Goa to Karnataka State.
The said liquor were concealed behind empty crates of fish in a container The driver of the vehicle escaped in the forest area taking opportunity of the darkness.
The said vehicle has been detained by Rohit Dessai I/c Sanguem Taluka, Mohandas Govekar Excise – Sub Inspector, Madhu Naik, Dilkush Velip, Ashok Parwar, Ritesh B Toraskar, Datta Gaonkar and all Excise Guards.
