PONDA: Almost two months after the deadly landslide at Prabunagar Curti, wherein an apartment is on verge of collapsing, the authorities are still yet to decide on construction of retaining wall.
The apartment is on the edge of the slope and could collapse anytime if the retaining wall is not built but yet the authorities are yet to take decision on saving people’s lives as the construction would cost ₹1.5 cr.
MGP leader Dr. Ketan Bhatikar and local Panch Sharmila Sangonkarvisited the site.
“Government must incur the cost as this is a question of lives of the people,” Dr Bhatikar said.
Panch Sharmila said that there is a three to children also and the houses down slope as the children play there.
“The Panchayat does not have so much funds and the PWD officials are awaiting directions from higher ups,” she said.
