PANAJI: Ports Minister Micheal Lobo today said that he will be meeting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and discuss about re-starting of Casino industry in Goa at 50 percent occupancy.
Lobo also informed that water sports activities across the state will begin at 50 % capacity from Sepetember 15.
“I will be meeting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and discuss about re-starting of Casino industry in Goa at 50 percent occupancy. The government would evaluate the COVID situation in the country next month and take an official call on reopening the casinos,” said Lobo
He further said that the government will consider starting casinos by next month, after looking at the situation in the country.
“If the Covid situation in the country improves, only then the casinos will start, and we will get tourists in the state of Goa,” he added
Speaking on tourism, Lobo also said that the state is hoping that charter flights open ifrom Europe, Russia, and some other European countries come back to Goa with international tourists.
“Now there is a ban on tourists coming to India, I feel that the MHA should give relaxation for these bubble flights, especially charter flights coming from one country to the other,”Lobo said
Further, the ports minister also said that High Court of Bombay at Goa order permitting only those who took both doses of Vaccination in Goa without RTPCR negative is a good sign for tourism industry in Goa.
“Water Sports Activity across the state will start from 15 September 2021 with 50% capacity,” Lobo informed
