Calangute: BJP MLA Michael Lobo has questioned why Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is forced to respond to almost every issue in the state, even those that fall squarely within other ministers’ portfolios.
“In Goa, it appears the Chief Minister is handling even issues like the stray dog menace, answering on behalf of all ministers. Other ministers should start taking responsibility for their portfolios,” Lobo said.
Highlighting the growing problem of stray dogs in the coastal belt, Lobo reiterated his demand for the establishment of dog rehabilitation and care centres to relocate strays from tourist areas. He noted that the Chief Minister had already agreed in principle to the proposal but stressed that it was the responsibility of the minister concerned to act on it.
Lobo said ministers must show initiative and take ownership of their departments, rather than leaving the CM to manage every issue personally.
