CANACONA: Canacona Shigmostav Samittee on Sunday held a special ‘Lok Kala Sanz’ at Lata Mangeshkar Kalangan (Ravindra Bhavan).
Canacona Shigmostav Samittee as part of Shigmostav celebration in Canacona a ‘Lok Kala Sanz’ comprising of different performances including a Mando (uzwadachi kirna, Shingale(Ponsulem) besides felicitations of around 40 artists from different walks of life was held at Lata Mangeshkar Kalangan, Sanjay Bandekar Auditorium at Chaudi.
Shigmostav Samiti Working president Babesh Borkar in his welcome speech the special ‘Lok Kala Sanz’ will give presentation of Mando by Uzvadachim Kirna from Shingale Ponsulem, Diwali Nritya by Kala Mogi Khotiganvkar from Khotigao, Kankonchi Nakshatra by Dekhni, Guru Kala Shilp Sangh Canacona by Arti Kolambkar and Dhalo by Durga Devi Mahila Mandal, Shristhal, which were later presented.
The lok kala sangh presented Fugadi from 10 different groups from all over the taluka.
About 40 present and past artists were felicitated on the occasion to motivate and recognize the artists.
Canaqcona Shifmosthav Committee president Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, Director of Art and Culture Kedar Naik, Welcome committee president & CMC Chairperson Sara Shamba Naik Desai, Sarpanchas of all the 7 village Panchayats of Canacona- Agonda, Khola, Shristhal, Gaondongrim, Khotigao, Poinguinim and Loliem-Polem, besides all the Councillors of CMC were the invitees as chief guest and guests for program on Sunday as well as the same will also attend Shigmostav Parade on Tuesday.
Speaking further Borkar said it is unfortunate that the Shigmostav Parades especially Romtamel and Chitrarath are held untill the wee hours of next day, and stated that the floats parade at Canacona on 25th March will began by 5 in all probability and strictly end by 11pm in the night.
‘After all we hold this parades for the benefits of people (public at large), a lots parents comes with their children to watch these floats and if they don’t get an opportunity to watch it what is teh use of holding these events. School exams are going on and people should return home the latest by 11pm. So, the committee has resolved to strictly adhere to the timings’.
Secretary Anil Faldessai informed that the counter to accept entry will be opened at 2.30 on the day and after 5pm no Entries will be taken, so that all Romtamel, Chitrarath are completed by 11pm.’
When asked that a few Romtamel do not performes in between and performs only on reaching Stage, Secretary informed that the panel of judges will be stationed at three spots, and it is for teh benefit of participants who complains of long route in Canacona, the route is shortened by 700 metres and instead of usual culminating spot near Dy Collectorate, the parades will wind up at KTC Bus stand. Participants had to perform on entire route to be eligible for the prizes.’, stated CMC chairperson Sara Naik Desai at the press meet.
