PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that his department is looking to fast-track the tertiary Cancer Centre.
Rane held a discussion on the way forward to fast-track the Tertiary Cancer Centre with Mr S.C.Garg, HSCC MD, Sandeep Jain & Dr Geeta Deshmukh.
“We shall be expediting the agreement pending with the Public Health Department. Work has already begun for a state-of-art centre that we are planning to have in a tripartite collaboration with Tata Memorial Hospital and Govt of India,” said Rane.
He further said that the project was initiated by PM Narendra Modi in Assam, and we are trying to replicate the same model in the state of Goa.
“I had a meeting with Secretary Health S Bhushan on this and to take forward these two critical blocks in North & South Goa in addition to the Mother & Child Block at GMC,” he added.
Rane said that he shall meet Bhushan post-Chaturthi and send Joint Secretary (Govt. of India) Vishant to evaluate the health infrastructure and set up in Goa.
“Our team will accordingly draft a vision document in sync with the vision of PM Narendra Modi to ensure we are on track with the outreach programs and initiatives of Prime Minister to create a robust health system and cater to the quality healthcare system for the people of Goa,” he said.
