PANAJI: The Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Wednesday extended his greetings and good wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of Diwali festival.
In his greeting message, the Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao said, ”May the divine light of Diwali bring peace, prosperity, happiness, and good health to your life. Let us move from darkness to light, taking everyone with us. Together, let us build a brighter society and create a vibrant social- milieu,”
“In our culturally rich Goa, we witness the tradition of making the effigies of Narakasura and burning them on Diwali, marking the victory of good over evil.
He said said the ‘Narakasur Vadh’ (killing of the giant demon) by Lord Krishna symbolises the victory of good over evil. Destruction of environment, coal pollution, corruption, selling of jobs are giant demons in the present scenario.
‘We need to defeat them unitedly and celebrate victory,” Alemao said.
