Panaji: Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Yuri Alemao today raised a Point of Order in the Goa Assembly protesting the transfer of a starred question related to a massive coal scam involving Adani and Jindal groups to an unstarred category.
Alemao alleged that the transfer was an attempt to suppress accountability and transparency. “There is over Rs 3,000 crore scam involving Adani and Jindal. This is a blatant murder of democracy and amounts to dictatorship,” he asserted amid uproar from opposition members demanding a response.
The Speaker intervened, urging members to maintain order and allow the Question Hour session to proceed without disruption.
The incident underscored rising tensions in the Assembly as the opposition seeks answers on alleged irregularities in coal imports, while the ruling side appears keen to limit discussion on the issue.
