FATORDA: A woman has been booked by Fatorda Police for allegedly impersonating herself as the owner of government-allotted property and executing a fraudulent sale deed worth ₹2.4 crore.
As per the complaint lodged by Ashish Rajput, Executive Engineer of Electricity Division XIV, Verna, the incident occurred on August 22, 2025, at the Office of the Civil Registrar-cum-Sub Registrar, Salcete, South Goa.
The accused, identified as Idalina Maria Dores D’Cruz alias Idalina Maria Dores De Cruz alias Idalina Maria Da Cruz, a resident of Loutolim, allegedly impersonated herself as the owner of a property located in Loutolim that had already been awarded to the Goa Electricity Department by the Goa IDC under award no. 07.10.2010-SLAO-IDC in 2013.
Despite being aware that the property belonged to the department, the accused executed a sale deed in favour of Girish Kumar Pillai for a consideration of ₹2.4 crore, thereby deceiving the buyer and causing loss to the government.
A case has been registered at Fatorda Police Station, and the investigation is being conducted by PSI Salil Gaonkar.
