Panaji: Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday attributed the increasing sightings of leopards and other wild animals in villages to low prey density in forest areas.
Rane said he has directed the Forest Department to submit a detailed report and prepare a comprehensive forest and grassland management plan for submission to the Centre. The plan aims to restore prey base and reduce human-wildlife conflict.
