Prayagraj: In the midst of the grand Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, held in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, several high-profile political leaders participated in the sacred ritual of taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. This event, occurring every 12 years, has drawn millions of devotees to the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, accompanied by her family, described her experience as a “profound moment” within the Sanatan tradition. Her participation underscored the significance of this spiritual gathering, which is a cornerstone of India’s cultural and religious heritage.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who is also the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), highlighted the global importance of Maha Kumbh. “Today, I had the privilege of taking a dip in the Sangam along with hundreds of BJYM workers. This event is unparalleled in scale and spirit, bringing together people from across the country and beyond,” Surya said.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu also joined the festivities, expressing his gratitude for being part of this historic event. “This tradition has continued for generations, and I feel fortunate to have witnessed and participated in the Maha Kumbh in my lifetime. The energy and positivity here are incredible,” Naidu remarked.
