PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress on Saturday organized a Justice March from Congress House in Panaji to protest the increasing crimes against women and minors in the state.
The march saw participation from party leaders and workers, who raised slogans demanding strict action and accountability in recent cases.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Pratiksha Narulkar Khalap expressed serious concern over the recent Curchorem sex scandal allegedly involving the son of a BJP councillor.
She said such incidents highlight the need for stronger measures to ensure safety of women and children.
GPCC President Amit Patkar also joined the march and spoke on the issue, alleging that Soham Sushant Naik, son of councillor Sushant Naik, has links with the BJP. Patkar displayed photographs purportedly showing Soham Naik with BJP president Damu Naik to support the claim.
Earlier, BJP Goa president Damu Naik had denied the allegation, stating that Sushant Naik was never even a primary member of the BJP.
The development has triggered a political war of words between the Congress and the BJP over the controversy.
