MAPUSA: The Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (GPMC) held a meeting in Sanquelim to strengthen grassroots organisation and plan future strategies. The event brought together past and present office bearers on a single platform, signalling a strong show of unity in the Chief Minister’s own constituency.
Former GPMC President Sunita Verekar and former Vice President Renuka Dessai were among the senior leaders who addressed the gathering. Other key participants included District President Mollie Da Gama Silva, General Secretary Jennifer Lobo, Zarina Shaikh (Vice Chairperson, Goa Congress Minority Cell), and senior members Anita Pilgaonkar, Asha Zossalkar, and Khushboo Blaggan.
During the meeting, Mrs. Gauri Gauns was officially nominated as the Block President of the Sanquelim Mahila Block Committee. Party leaders described her appointment as an effort to bring fresh energy and leadership to the local unit.
“United we stand, stronger than ever. Mahila Shakti will lead the way forward,” said Dr. Pratiksha Khalap, President of the Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee. She emphasised the commitment of the Mahila Congress to empower women and ensure their voices are heard across the state.
