MARGAO: Maina Curtorim police have seized a large quantity of cigarettes and gutka from Reena General Store located near Carmels College, after it was found selling tobacco products within 100 yards of the educational institution in violation of Section 6 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003. During the raid, police confiscated 55 packets of cigarettes of different brands, 108 packets of Vimal gutka, and 262 packets of V-1 gutka. Authorities said the action was taken to curb the illegal sale of tobacco products in restricted areas and to enforce strict compliance with the law. Further investigation is underway.
