SANCOALE: In a tragic road accident early Monday morning, one person lost his life, and two others sustained grievous injuries when a rashly driven car collided with another vehicle on NH 366 near Sheela Bar and Restaurant, Terepal, Sancoale, Goa.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 AM when Suresh Jaggal (45), a resident of Shantinagar Vasco Goa, was driving his car (GA-07-C-7406) in a rash and negligent manner. According to the police, while heading from Cortalim towards Vasco, Suresh veered into the wrong lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming Maruti Ertiga (GA-03-N-4056).
The driver of the Ertiga, identified as Yallapa Muniswami (30) of Calangute, sustained serious injuries in the crash. The other occupant of the Swift Car , Nissar Ahmad (54), a resident of Bangalore and a passenger in the Ertiga, was also grievously hurt. Tragically, Suresh Jaggal, the driver of the offending car, succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The injured individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The incident was reported to the Verna Police who registered a case under sections 125(b), 281, and 106(1) of the BNS.
PSI Rajdatt Arsekar of Verna police station is conducting further inquiries into the case under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam
