*Car of priest and garage behind the church damaged in the incident

BOGMALO: A major landslide was reported at Bogmalo behind the Cosme and Damiao Church in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Fortunately while no one was reportedly injured in the incident, the car belonging to the priest and the garage along with some items of the church were damaged in the incident.
The priest said that the incident occured at around 2 am
” I was asleep but I heard the car alarm faintly but when I got up in the morning, i saw that boulders had fallen down on the garage and my car was damaged . We also had some equipment of the church that was also damaged in the incident. The huge boulders falling here is a risk and must be taken care of immediately. The talathi and others have arrived here and taken an assessment of the losses caused ” said the priest
Meanwhile Bogmalo Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale said that the panchayat will propose a retaining wall in the area to prevent any danger in the future.
” We got to know about the incident in the early morning. We have witnessed the incident for the first time due to the rains and we will offer immediate help through disaster management by calling a talathi to assess the damage caused.
We are focussing on the clearance of the area by removing the boulder. The church is a religious place and many people come here to offer prayers. Such incident can cause major tragedy and we request the Government to immediately come up with a retaining wall at the site . ” Said Mahale
