A male dead body was on Tuesday evening found floating in the water near the Kahrewado fishing jetty
Locals who saw the body later alerted the Vasco police station
Vasco police arrived on the site and fished out the body
While it is assumed that the body could be of some migrant labourer working on board some fishing vessels , sources in the Vasco police stations said that the identity of the deceased was not known till late evenings
A local resident said that the male appears to be in the age group of 30 to 40 years
” He may be a migrant labourer working for a fishing boat. We could not get his details and the incident of his drowning may not have been days ago because the body was fresh and not deteriorated as such . We saw the body at around 5.30 pm in the waters near the fishing jetty and we called the police to inform them about the incident ” said the resident
Meanwhile Vasco police has registered a case of unnatural death and is further investigating the case
