VASCO: A male aged approximately 40-50 years was found lying unresponsive near the old bus stand at the Vasco market.
The Vasco Police Control Room (PCR) received a call about the incident, prompting an immediate inquiry.
Upon visiting the spot, authorities discovered the individual in a lifeless state.
The man, whose identity remains unknown, was shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Chicalim via a 108 ambulance. However, the medical officer at SDH Chicalim declared him dead on arrival.
The police conducted an inquest panchanama, and the body was preserved at SGDH Margao for identification and further medico-legal procedures. Preliminary investigations revealed no signs of foul play.
A case of Unnatural death has been registered under Section 194 of the BNS, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station.
Authorities have appealed to the public to assist in identifying the deceased.
