PANAJI: In conjunction with the arrest of two Jharkhand residents, Porvorim Police solved the murder case of an unidentified person who was discovered dead beneath the Mandovi Bridge at Malim with serious head injuries.
The accused are 18-year-old Krishna Pradhan and 23-year-old Bhaula, also known as Bhola or Narayan Singh, who are both from Jharkhand’s Simdega district.
Police said that the accused confessed to killing the unnamed individual by hitting his skull with a laterite stone while being questioned. According to the inquiry, the deceased and the accused met on the day of the occurrence and then started drinking together in a covered spot at Malim. A argument that started during the drinking session resulted in the deceased person being fatally assaulted.
According to police, the suspects, who are daily-wage laborers on fishing boats, came in Goa two to three months ago, following the start of the state’s fishing season in August 2024.
Because the accused were so drunk that they were originally unable to disclose information about their history, including where they were staying, the Betim Outpost’s meticulous records on the laborers working at the Malim jetty were crucial to the case’s resolution.
Outside the fish-selling hut under the Old Mandovi Bridge at Malim, the unnamed individual was found dead. Water bottles, throwaway cups, and empty liquor bottles were discovered on the shaded floor next to the deceased, along with a blood-stained laterite stone.
