PANAJI: An offence has been registered based on a complaint filed by Sushant Nagvenkar (54), resident of Fondevem, Ribandar.
According to the complaint, the incident dates back to November 2017 at the Office of the Director of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Bambolim, where the accused, Pradeep Volvoikar, allegedly prepared and submitted a forged and fabricated application to renew a Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 certificate in the name of his deceased father, Prabhakar V. Volvoikar.
The accused reportedly succeeded in getting the licence renewed using these fraudulent documents, thereby cheating the government authority.
Police have registered an offence and further investigation is underway.
