CURCHOREM: Curchorem police have launched an investigation into a serious complaint of sexual assault involving a minor girl from Devsa, Quepem.
The complaint, filed by the girl’s mother, alleges that between March 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025, a man identified as Ganesh Lamani, a resident of Pedamol Shirvoi, Quepem, had sexual intercourse with her minor daughter.
According to the complaint, the alleged assault took place at a location known as “Ice Cream Corner” at the Fish Market in Bepquegal, Curchorem.
The case is being investigated by Lady Police Sub-Inspector (LPSI) Joycee Carvalho of the Curchorem Police Station. Authorities have not yet released further details as the investigation is ongoing.
Ganesh Lamani’s name has previously appeared in connection with the Banastarim accident case, where he was listed as a “dummy driver” in a chargesheet filed by the Goa police crime branch. However, it is important to note that the current allegations are a separate matter.
This incident is part of a series of recent sexual assault cases reported in the Quepem area, which has raised concerns among local residents and law enforcement. The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
