VARCA: Colva Police have registered a serious offence after a resident of Chadvaddo, Varca alleged that he was assaulted, choked and robbed by two men over previous enmity.
Complainant Nicholas Dias reported that the incident occurred on November 18 between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm while he was walking towards his car after purchasing vegetables. According to him, the accused — Agnelo Rodrigues and Diago Rodrigues, both residents of Uddo Laxette Vaddo, Varca — intercepted him and, acting with common intention, restrained him from proceeding and assaulted him with fists and kicks.
Dias further alleged that the duo choked him to the point where he was unable to breathe, amounting to an attempt to commit murder. The accused then allegedly removed his shirt, dragged him behind a nearby structure and continued the assault.
During the attack, accused Agnelo Rodrigues allegedly snatched the complainant’s Samsung mobile phone and fled, committing theft.
Police said the motive appears to be linked to previous enmity between the parties.
The case is under investigation by LPSI Raksha Naik of Colva Police Station.
