Vasco:;Vasco Police have registered a case following a violent incident in which a young man and his uncle were allegedly deliberately hit by a car and assaulted with hockey sticks at Mangoor Hill, Vasco.
According to police sources, the complaint was lodged by Mr. Sohail Shaikh (26), a resident of Shantianagar, Vasco. The complainant stated that on January 6, 2026 at around 9.10 pm, while he and his uncle Mr. Irfan Makandar were crossing the road near the Coast Guard Gate at Mangoor Hill, Vasco, accused persons—Ismail Shaikh alias Kabbu, Amit Gawade alias Chote, Nawaz Shaikh and another person named Nawaz, all residents of Vasco—acting with common intention, intentionally dashed a white Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire car into them.
The accused were allegedly travelling in the car from Dabolim Airport towards Varunapuri Junction. After hitting the complainant and his uncle, the accused reportedly alighted from the vehicle carrying hockey sticks and assaulted both victims, causing serious injuries to their heads and other parts of the body. The attack was allegedly carried out due to previous enmity with the complainant.
The complainant further alleged that during the assault, the accused also robbed him of ₹5,000 in cash from his pocket before fleeing the scene.
Vasco Police have registered the offence and launched an investigation. Further investigation in the case is being conducted by PSI Mayur Sawant of Vasco Police Station.
