AGACAIM: Police arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly accepting matka gambling bets near the SSB GMC area in Bambolim on Wednesday night.
According to Agacaim Police, the accused, Alam Nadeem Shaikh, resident of Kumar Wada, Vaddy, Merces, was caught red-handed at around 8.15 pm on June 25 while accepting bets on numerical digits.
Police seized ₹690 in cash, paper slips, carbon papers and a pen used in the betting activity.
LPSI Deepika Parwar of Agacaim Police Station registered the case and conducted the panchanama of the seized items.
The accused was arrested at 9.07 pm and later released on bail at 9.19 pm the same night. Investigation is in progress.
