PONDA: Ponda Police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on multiple occasions after blackmailing her with private photographs.
According to police, the accused, identified as Sumit Kumar, resident of Usgao, Ponda and native of Bihar, had allegedly threatened the victim by stating that he would circulate her intimate photographs, which were reportedly taken without her consent.
Under duress, the accused is alleged to have forcefully established physical relations with the complainant on several occasions at TNK, Usgao, prior to October 9, 2025.
The accused has since been arrested, and further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Anjali Dhulapkar of Ponda Police Station.
