VASCO: Vasco Police on Friday arrested a man for allegedly possessing 1.2 kg of suspected ganja valued at around ₹1.2 lakh. Acting on a complaint filed by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station, police said the raid was conducted in the early hours between 12.40 am and 3.10 am at an under-construction building near Coast Guard Fakir Gali in Vasco. The accused, identified as Tilakdhari Yadav, a resident of Sai Nagar, Vasco and originally from Uttar Pradesh, was found in illegal possession of dry greenish stems, flowering and fruiting parts of a plant emitting an intoxicating odor suspected to be ganja. Police said the seized substance weighed approximately 1.2 kg. The accused was placed under arrest and further investigation is underway.
