MARGAO: A man was arrested after being caught allegedly in possession of suspected ganja near the District Library at Navelim, opposite Holy Cross, Margao, in the early hours of March 3.
According to a complaint filed by PSI Sanjay Velip of Margao Town Police Station, the accused, identified as Rohan Dias, a resident of Durbhat, Ponda, was caught red-handed between 10:45 pm on March 2 and 1:45 am on March 3. He was found in possession of dry greenish leafy, flowering and fruiting parts of a plant suspected to be ganja weighing 963 grams, valued at approximately ₹1,15,560.
Police have arrested the accused in connection with the crime.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sameer Gaonkar of Margao Town Police Station.
