VASCO: A 28-year-old man was arrested at Vasco Railway Station on Wednesday evening for alleged possession of ganja valued at approximately ₹65,000. The accused, identified as Satyam, son of Surendra Singh and a native of Ismailpur village, Hajipur, Bihar, was residing at the Bedroll Office near the station.
The arrest was made during a raid conducted between 6:20 pm and 10:30 pm on Platform No. 1 by a team comprising PSI Krishna Talpi, HC Aiyas Shaikh, Nagendra Mesta, and PCs Satish Kothawale and Shivappa Chalwadi, under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi of Vasco Railway Police Station.
According to police, the accused was found in possession of 650 grams of dry greenish leaves, stems, and flowering parts suspected to be ganja, emitting a strong intoxicating odour. The contraband was seized, and a case was registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, bearing Crime No. 03/2025.
The complaint was lodged by PSI Krishna Talpi, and the accused was formally taken into custody at 11:57 pm the same night. Further investigation is ongoing under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
