PERNEM: Mandrem Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act after a 32-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of suspected LSD worth ₹3.15 lakh at Ashwem in Pernem on Tuesday.
According to police, Mandrem Police Station registered Crime No. 18/2026 under Section 22(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985, based on a complaint filed by PSI Sarvesh Sawant.
The accused, identified as Arshad, son of Madhu Kutty (32), currently residing at Arambol in Pernem and originally from Calicut, Kerala, was apprehended between 3.10 pm and 4.50 pm at Quarry Road, Ashwem, Mandrem.
Police said the accused was found in illegal possession of 17 small papers bearing different printed images, suspected to be LSD blots.
The total estimated street value of the seized contraband is ₹3,15,000.
The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
