PONDA: Ponda police have registered a case following a complaint of assault and criminal intimidation over a road rage incident at Bethoda Junction.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Pushparaj Navelkar, a resident of Dhabdhaba, Bicholim, stating that on January 14, 2026, at around 2.45 pm, an unknown person riding a motorcycle approached him at high speed from behind while he was riding his scooter at Bethoda Junction, Ponda.
The accused allegedly wrongfully restrained the complainant by parking his motorcycle in front of the scooter, abused him using filthy language, and assaulted him with fist blows and kicks.
The accused further pushed the complainant forcefully and picked up a stone, threatening him with dire consequences, including killing him, if he was seen again in the Bethoda area. The incident reportedly occurred over an argument related to vehicle overtaking.
Based on the complaint, Ponda police have registered an offence, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Bansal Naik of Ponda Police Station.
