PONDA: A man was injured after being allegedly assaulted with a wooden batten by two persons over a shop possession dispute at Talaulim, Ponda, on Monday evening.
Police said that around 7.45 pm on September 22, the accused — Mahadev Naik and Kishan Naik, both residents of Talaulim — first abused the victim Premanand Naik in filthy language and later attacked him, causing laceration injuries on the scalp and other parts of the body.
Following the complaint lodged by Pratima Naik, wife of the victim, police registered a case. Accused Kishan Naik has been arrested, while further investigation is underway under PSI Chetan Naik of Ponda Police Station.
