Benaulim: A 40-year-old man from Dadra and Nagar Haveli was allegedly assaulted by two unknown persons near Benaulim beach road in South Goa, police said.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 31, 2026, at around 12.00 noon near Benaulim beach road, Salcete. The complainant, Francis Co Dominic Fernandes, a resident of Indira Nagar, Silvassa, stated that the accused persons assaulted him with fist blows and later attacked him with a Honey Bee whisky glass bottle.
Police said the accused acted with common intention and caused injuries to the complainant on his chest and face. The assault reportedly took place following a sudden provocation.
Based on the complaint, police have registered an offence under Section 118(1) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway to identify and trace the accused persons.
