CANCA: Mapusa Police have registered an offence following an alleged assault and damage to property reported from Khalapwado, Canca in Bardez on March 21.
According to police, complainant Rohan Ratikant Korgaonkar (36), a businessman and resident of Khalapwado, Canca, stated that the incident occurred at around 3:00 pm near Anup Sherol Gym. The accused, identified as Pitu alias Willson Fernandes, reportedly abused the complainant using filthy language over a personal issue and allegedly assaulted him with a stone, causing bodily injuries.
Police said the accused also allegedly threatened the complainant with dire consequences and damaged his scooter bearing registration number GA-03-AG-2514, resulting in an estimated loss of around ₹20,000.
Mapusa Police have registered an offence under sections 352, 351(3), 118(2) and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The accused has not been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
