CANACONA: A dispute stemming from previous enmity led to violence in Canacona on Saturday evening when a man was attacked with a wooden stick.
According to a complaint filed by Premanand Gaonkar, a resident of Canacona, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. near the ITI at Mastimol.
The accused, identified as Dilip Kenkre of Ponsulem, allegedly struck Gaonkar on the head with a wooden danda, causing a bleeding injury.
Police said the motive behind the assault was linked to an earlier rivalry between the two.
The case has been registered at Canacona Police Station, and further investigation is being carried out by ASI Netaji Desai.
