Margao: Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case against a man from Belloy, Nuvem, for allegedly abusing, threatening and outraging the modesty of a woman following a complaint lodged by the victim.
According to police, the complainant, whose identity has been withheld, stated that the incident occurred on January 28, 2026, at around 10 am at Belloy, Nuvem. The accused has been identified as Prashant Bandodkar, a resident of Belloy, Nuvem.
As per the complaint, the accused allegedly remained on the terrace of his house and hurled abusive words at the complainant, including derogatory remarks, in the presence of her workers who were engaged in carrying out work at the site. Police said the accused’s actions allegedly outraged the modesty of the complainant.
The complaint further states that the accused threatened the complainant by cutting tree branches and throwing them towards her, and also allegedly instigated and provoked her over an issue of previous enmity.
Further investigation in the case is in progress and is being carried out by LPSI Veronica Coutinho of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
