PANAJI: Goa Police have registered an offence against a man for allegedly posting objectionable content on social media that hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community.
According to police, the case was registered at 12:17 am on October 10, 2025, at Anjuna Police Station based on a complaint filed by Rev. Fr. Marcelino De Souza of St. Anthony Church, Vagator, Bardez.
The complainant stated that, prior to October 9, 2025, the accused, identified as Vijay Arora, had deliberately posted an advertisement on social media promoting a techno music event with the caption.
“Saturday Night – Sunday Morning dropping proper techno sounds @ noise.goa alongside the Sunday morning mass… say HALELUJAH.”
Police said the post hurt the religious sentiments of the complainant and members of his community.
The investigation is being conducted by PSI Navneet Goltekar of Anjuna Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
