VASCO: Vasco police have registered a case against a Baina resident for allegedly attacking a local youth with a knife , following a dispute linked to previous enmity.
As per a complaint filed by Sharanya Palkar, the incident occurred around 11:30 PM on August 4 near Marine Electrical, Baina. The complainant alleged that accused Shiva Harijan, a resident of Baina, approached him in an inebriated state and, in a fit of rage, first attempted to hit him by pelting a stone, which the complainant managed to avoid.
Harijan then allegedly assaulted Palkar with a knife on the head, resulting in simple injuries.
Following the complaint, Vasco police registered an offence under Sections 324 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Shradha Naik of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
