ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered an offence against a 39-year-old man for alleged illegal possession of a prohibited weapon in Nagoa, Bardez.
The case, registered as Anjuna PS Cr. No. 100/2025 under sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, is based on a complaint filed by PSI Sachin A. Shirodkar of Porvorim Police Station.
Police said that on 25 June 2025, between 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm at Raut-wado, Nagoa, the accused, identified as Tarzan Ramchandra Parsekar, was found in possession of a long metal sickle or chopper (locally known as Torsat), measuring 95 cm with a curved, sharp cutting edge.
The weapon was seized under a disclosure panchanama dated 25 June 2025 in connection with Porvorim PS Cr. No. 54/2025 registered under sections 126(2), 308(5), 351, 352 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
Police said the accused, who is currently under arrest in the Porvorim case, will be taken on a transfer warrant. Further investigation is in progress.
