MARGAO: Margao Town Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on the pretext of marriage and impregnating her.
According to police, the complaint was filed by a woman from Navelim stating that between August 2025 and January 2026, the accused, identified as Santosh Budapnavar, a resident of Verna and native of Karnataka, allegedly forced sexual intercourse with her on multiple occasions on the promise of marriage.
The complainant further alleged that she became pregnant as a result.
Based on the complaint, Margao Town Police registered an offence against the accused.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Aanushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
