Old Goa: Police registered an offence on Friday (28 November 2025) after a man was caught red-handed accepting gambling bets in a public place near the Old Goa petrol pump.
The complaint, filed by ASI Anil Dessai of Old Goa Police Station, states that at around 1:15 pm, the accused — Sitaram, 56, son of Ladu Gawas, resident of Housing Board, Corlim, Tiswadi — was found taking gambling bets from members of the public in an open area.
Police seized ₹780 in cash, a writing pad with carbon papers, and a ballpoint pen from his possession.
The accused was arrested at 2:40 pm and released on bail at 2:52 pm. Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Dessai of Old Goa Police Station.
