Vasco: Vasco Police Station has registered a cheating case following a complaint of alleged fraud involving the sale of a residential plot at Dabolim.
According to the complaint filed by Satyawan Sharma, a resident of Dabolim, the accused, identified as Kamal Singh Kouraw of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly posed as the owner/authorised seller of a residential plot located at Dabolim.
Police said that between August 2022 and the present date, at Vasco, the accused allegedly made false representations and induced the complainant to pay a total sum of ₹53,00,000 on the pretext of selling the said plot.
Out of the total amount, ₹46,00,000 was transferred through bank transactions, while ₹7,00,000 was paid in cash. However, the accused neither provided possession of the residential plot nor refunded the amount, thereby allegedly dishonestly cheating the complainant of ₹53 lakh.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station.
