KULEM: A tragic incident was reported on when a man was found severely injured on the railway tracks at Km 58/800-900 near Kulem.
According to information received from the Vasco Railway Police, the Dy. Station Manager of Vasco Railway Station was alerted by GDR about a male individual, aged around 40 to 45 years, lying injured on the tracks.
Upon investigation, authorities found that the injured man had been shifted to PHC Sanguem for medical attention. However, doctors at the health center declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Harif Shaikh (52), a resident near Kulem.
Following standard procedures, the body was shifted to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) morgue in Margao for medico-legal formalities.
The Vasco Railway Police Station has registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigations are underway, and PSI Krishna Talpi of Vasco Railway PS is handling the case.
