CURCHOREM: A tragic incident occurred at Curchorem Railway Station, where a man was found dead on the railway tracks.
The deceased has been identified as Jayant Parmar (41) , a resident of Chawakwado, Curchorem.
As per the inquiry conducted by the Vasco Railway police, Parmar, who was reportedly suffering from epilepsy, is believed to have suffered a seizure while walking alongside the tracks.
He lost consciousness and was struck by a passing train, resulting in death due to fatal injuries.
The incident took place at Km 69/300 on Road No. 3 of Curchorem Railway Station. The police, after conducting an inquest panchanama, sent the body for a postmortem examination at SGDH, Margao. The autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was due to severe blunt force ,damage to the head, chest, and abdomen, along with the transection of both thighs.
Following the completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
Vasco Railway police station has registered a case of unnatural death under section 194 of BNS and PI Amarnath Passi of Vasco Railway Police Station is carrying out further investigation under the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam
