MANDREM: A 29-year-old man, identified as Milind Sinha, son of Ujjwal Sinha, resident of Ruzaiwado, Mapusa, and native of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, died in a tragic road accident at Chopdem in Mandrem early Friday morning.
According to Mandrem Police, the accident occurred at around 12:15 a.m. when Milind was driving a Volkswagen Polo (KA-03-NJ-8657) from Mandrem towards Siolim with his wife. On reaching near the Fish Market at Chopdem, the car reportedly first hit a parked Honda Activa scooter (GA-11-B-1106) on the left side of the road, then rammed into a roadside compound wall, and subsequently collided with a stationary Tata truck (GA-03-T-8325) parked on the kaccha road.
Milind sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to Community Health Centre (CHC) Tuem, where he was declared brought dead.
Police have registered a U.D. No. 43/2025 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), as it was a self-accident case. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Laximan Dessai of Mandrem Police Station.
