MARGAO: A Margao resident has lodged a complaint against a Fatorda-based man for allegedly cheating him of Rs. 42.5 lakh under the pretext of providing a residential premises and a plot.
According to the complaint filed by Mahesh Borkar of Pedda, Margao, between March 2024 and July 2024, the accused, identified as Kamlesh Munshibhai Karelia, dishonestly induced him to part with cash amounting to Rs. 42,50,000. Despite receiving the money, the accused allegedly failed to deliver the promised property, thereby causing wrongful loss to the complainant.
Police have registered the case and further investigation has been entrusted to LPSI Aanushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
