QUEPEM: Quepem Police have registered a case after a man allegedly fired a rifle in the air following a dispute over a roadside water tap at Cavorem.
According to the complaint filed by Kushali Velip of Gaonkarwadda, Cavorem, the incident occurred on April 1, 2026 between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The accused, identified as Ram Velip of Velipwada, Cavorem, allegedly abused the complainant and family members in filthy language over the issue of a tap water connection installed at the roadside.
Police said the accused then allegedly threatened to kill the complainant’s family members. He later went inside his house, brought a firearm rifle and negligently fired one round in the air, thereby endangering human life and the safety of the complainant’s family.
Quepem Police have registered the case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Yogesh Gaonkar.
