Canacona: A 38-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Agonda, Canacona, on Wednesday evening, in what police have registered as an unnatural death case.
According to Canacona Police, the incident came to light on January 29, 2026, around 5.36 pm, after the Medical Officer of CHC Canacona informed police that one Molu Velip (38), a resident of Karashirmol, Agonda, was brought dead to the casualty by a 108 ambulance.
Police visited the CHC and recorded statements of the wife and family members. During the enquiry, it was revealed that the deceased was addicted to alcohol and had been consuming liquor continuously. Preliminary findings suggest that the incident occurred at his residence earlier in the evening.
Canacona Police conducted the scene of occurrence and inquest panchanamas. The body was sent for post-mortem examination, and the police surgeon certified the cause of death as asphyxia due to constriction of the neck.
After completing all formalities, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
