AGACAIM: Police have registered an unnatural death case after a 32-year-old man was found dead at a residence in Batim, Tiswadi, on Tuesday morning.
According to police, a call was received from PCR Panaji at around 8:25 am on March 10, 2026 informing that a person had allegedly committed suicide behind the Batim Panchayat. Following the information, LPSI Raksha Naik visited the spot at the residence of Joanita Antao at Portal Bhat, Batim.
At the scene, police found a man identified as Harish Bhovi, 32, son of Devendra Bhovi, lying on the floor of the house. He was residing at the same address and was originally from Shivamogga district in Karnataka.
The man was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, in a 108 ambulance, where the medical officer declared him brought dead.
During preliminary inquiry, family members informed police that Harish was reportedly under depression. They further stated that on March 10 between 4:30 am and 4:35 am, his sister returned home after completing her night shift duty and found him lying on the floor inside the house. She also noticed a red and light pink nylon dupatta hanging from the ceiling fan.
Police informed the Agacaim Police Inspector and registered an Unnatural Death case (UD No. 05/2026) under Section 194 of the BNSS.
Further inquiry into the case is being conducted by LPSI Raksha Naik of Agacaim Police Station.
